1. Fruit & Yogurt

The great thing about fruit and yogurt is its versatility – not only are you able to mix and match your favourite fruits with different types of yogurt, you can also enjoy this combination as a parfait or smoothie. For a boost of antioxidants, load up on fruits like cranberries, blackberries, and blueberries.

2. Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

While this sounds more like a dessert than a healthy breakfast option, we assure you that a smoothie made with a blend of banana, peanut butter, and oats make for a wholesome choice. Bananas are a rich source of potassium while peanut butter is rich in fiber and protein, which fills you up so you don’t feel peckish mid-morning.

3. Scrambled Eggs with Spinach

You don’t even have to break out a frying pan to prepare this nutritious brekkie. Here’s what you need to do – beat two eggs, toss it into a microwave-safe container, add a handful of spinach leaves (and while you’re at it, why not throw some cherry tomatoes and cheese in). Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then cook for another 30 seconds. Voila!

4. Avocado Sandwich with Egg

Avocados is one of those health superfoods, with its anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Plus, it’s so easy to prepare. For this recipe, just grab two slices of wholegrain bread (toasted or not, it’s up to you) then heap up a generous serving of smashed avocado with a sprinkling of salt and pepper. To get your protein fix, simply add a sunny-side up egg.

5. Overnight Oats

If you have absolutely no time to prepare breakfast in the mornings, try this. The night before, prepare 1/2 cup fresh milk, 1/3 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 a mashed banana, ¼ cup of chopped nuts, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Mix them all up in a sealed Tupperware container. By morning, you’ll have a deliciously cold and well-balanced breakfast waiting for you!
